Britt-Marie Seex
Executive Chairman 
Britt-Marie and her husband opened the well renowned Tamarind Restaurant in Mombasa in 1972, and that is the origin of the name of this company. Later, Britt-Marie founded Tamarind Translations in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2009 she opened Tamarind Translations in Nairobi. As an experienced English–Swedish translator she is involved in the development of the company as a business advisor.

Theophan Marube
Managing Director
Theo has been with Tamarind Language Services since 2009. He has been in the translation industry since 2000. Theo speaks French, English and Kiswahili, and holds a master’s in translation, and PGD in project management. He interprets from French to English and is certified by the United Nations. Theo is a volunteer in charitable activities for mentorship of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Mitchelle Akumu
Project Manager
Mitchelle joined Tamarind in 2019 with a background in sales and marketing and a degree in communications & public relations from the University of Nairobi. With experience in corporate communication, she excels in strategic planning, team leadership, and client engagement. Mitchelle enjoys exploring new technologies that inspire her innovative approach to project management. She is also an accomplished actress and salsa instructor.

Laban Mahindu
Senior Project Manager
Laban is a business professional with years of experience as a project manager and localisation expert. He heads our translation, localization and vendor management section, well-versed in total quality management principles, methodologies, communication and technical implementations of translation projects. He holds a master’s in project planning and management and a linguistics’ degree in French. After work, he likes to engage in wellness activities.

Aileen Gathoni Musyoka
Operations Manager
Aileen has over 20 years’ experience in project management and office administration. She joined Tamarind in 2010 and is experienced in planning conference interpretation projects, resource mobilization and management. She holds qualifications in management and IT and has a passion for working with teams on diverse projects. In her free time, Aileen enjoys coaching family and friends on nutritional health matters, cooking and travelling.

Nancy Nyaga
Chief Accountant
Nancy joined our team in 2012 as an accomplished accounting professional. She is an excellent leader and team player with 17 years’ experience in finance and accounting ensuring compliance to local and international accounting standards. She holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce, CPA and is a registered member of the ICPAK, besides a qualification in Project Management,. Off work, Nancy enjoys sewing and knitting.

Susan Kiberenge
Adminstrative Assistant
Susan has several years of experience in streamlining office administrative procedures. Adept in enhancing productivity, she holds a business management qualification. Susan is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to personal and professional growth. Outside work she does charity work, farming and explores new opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.

Pius Mwenda
Interpretation Equipment Technician
Pius is our technician as well as marketing professional who joined us in 2022. With long experience in communication equipment sales, he is our lead technician in charge of interpretation equipment and other technical procedures during conferences and remote meetings. He holds qualifications in business management and IT. Away from work, Pius enjoys creating digital content and playing volleyball.

Florence Ngaru
Sales and Digital Marketing Coordinator
Florence joined us in 2025 with a background in journalism, copywriting, and marketing communications. She has experience in sales, business development, and content creation for online and offline campaigns. Skilled in crafting impactful messaging and managing targeted campaigns, she works to connect clients with the right language solutions. Florence designs marketing materials and coordinates outreach activities. Outside work, she enjoys reading, exploring creative design projects, and learning new skills.
