Our Corporate Social Responsibility work has been developed in line with our business concept and values. The policy reflects our commitment to our employees, suppliers, and customers and our support for community projects.
Mikaoni is a small village on the Kenyan Coast, secluded from the bustling Mombasa-Malindi road near Vipingo. A few years ago, the local council erected a small school building in Mikaoni but struggled to maintain it. By 2013, the school, accommodating 25 pupils, required extensive renovation.
When we visited the school, we committed to helping with renovations, including building an outside toilet block, on the condition that the area around it was kept clean and litter-free.
We are proud to be part of this project and to see so many small children become familiar with letters, numbers, and books whilst being provided with a mug of porridge every morning.
Today, the children are provided with school uniforms, the teachers have received national curriculum-approved books, and the standard of tuition has been raised.
We continue to support Mikaoni Nursery School, which provides more children with an opportunity for a better start in life and relieves parents from the pressure of school fees.
