World Bank Adaptation Fund – Conference & Field Visit

In April 2018, Tamarind Translations provided French<>English and Spanish<>English interpretation and interpretation equipment to the World Bank Adaptation Fund conference held at the Panari Hotel, Nairobi.

At this high level meeting, representatives from the World Bank, its development partners and the National Environment Management Authority, discussed planned development projects in Kenya. The meeting culminated in an engaging field trip to Masinga, in Machakos County, where we provided field interpretation using our portable wireless interpretation system. This service made all the difference to the delegates as they could follow the proceedings, in their own language, despite being outdoors with all the distractions.

Our French and Spanish interpretation team was well equipped to make the visit seamless as the international delegates mingled easily with the locals who attended the site visit. Our technicians worked extra hard ensuring that everyone was plugged in and listening with the portable devices during the visit, having tuned to the correct channel for either French or Spanish.

This was an out of the ordinary project that went exceptionally well, and the client from the World Bank was happy and greatly impressed with the effortlessness of the whole exercise.

A feather in the hat for Team Tamarind!
