Tamarinfo – December 2018

Welcome to the last edition of Tamarinfo this year. In this issue, you will read about our special assignment at the 1st Global Sustainable Blue Economy Conference held in November at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Nairobi, and our increased regional projects. International Translation Day 2018

On 27 September, Tamarind Translations hosted a lively International Translation Day Open House and cocktail for Kenyan translators and partners. Over 70 guests including clients and students from the Center for Translation and Interpretation at the University of Nairobi participated.

Tamarind Translations at Key IOM Symposium

The symposium on “Fostering Labour Mobility within and from Africa” was held in Nairobi in July, 2018. Attended by over 200 delegates, this international event was one of the major IOM gatherings to be held in Africa this year with representatives from the African Union, ECOWAS, Gulf Cooperation Council, and EU member states.

For the third time, a leading medical research agency in Kenya requested Tamarind Translations to provide technical translation and interpretation services at an entomology symposium held in July in Kisumu, a city by Lake Victoria.

What is Executive Public Address?

A roving microphone is certainly not the best in interactive meetings. Clumsy to handle for a facilitator at the podium who wishes to pace around, and limiting for members of the audience who wish to ask a question but there aren’t enough mics going round!

Tamarind at AMRA 2018 Conference

Tamarind Translations was the language service provider at one the most remarkable global gatherings in Nairobi so far this year: the Africa Market Research Associations conference, in short AMRA 2018. Held at the prestigious Villa Rosa Kempski Hotel, Nairobi in February, the event brought together leading global market research and polling agencies from Africa and around the world, with over 150 delegates.
