We at Tamarind Language Services (TLS) join language professionals in celebrating the International Translation Day (ITD) on 30 September 2020. Kudos to the versatile and buoyant language professionals’ fraternity! Language professionals play an essential role in uniting nations and cultures; simplifying dialogue as well as facilitating the participation of participants in varying engagements. Language professionals play an integral role in breaking down language barriers.

Covid-19 has provided its fair share of challenges, which has forced many organizations to go back to the drawing board and identify ways in which their businesses can continue. This is why we have come up with innovative and tailor made solutions that will best suit your varying communication needs. We also note with interest that organizations are beginning to embrace the ‘new normal’ and gradually starting to adapt.

The successful launch of Africa Free Continental Trade Area (AfCFTA) took place on the 5th of March at Radisson Blu, Nairobi. This positions East Africa to earn US$ 1.8 billion in welfare gains and benefit from 2 million jobs. AfCFTA becomes operational in July this year.

The second Africa International Translation Conference was held in Arusha on 7th and 8th February 2020. The conference is an annual event organized by the East Africa Interpreters and Translators Association.

Tamarind Language Services was part of the SWITCH Africa Green forum that took place in Kampala, Uganda in February 2020. The forum brought together over 300 stakeholders from partner countries including Policy-makers, Business associations, Private sector firms, Financial institutions, Academia, International development and Civil society organizations, UN agencies and SMEs from several countries involved in promoting an inclusive green economy.

We enter the new decade as we unveil our new name Tamarind Language Services. New beginnings with a fresh promise and commitment to our values that have made us the premier language service provider in East Africa and beyond.
