Interpretation at the Regional Action Plan on Albinism

In February 2018, Kenya hosted a high-level regional workshop on Albinism organised in Nairobi by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Geneva.

Tamarind Translations was chosen to provide specialised technical interpretation services into French, English and Portuguese, as well as interpretation equipment. The event that was attended by experts in the field focused on the development of a Regional Action Plan to feed into the Sustainable Development Goals and the Agenda 2063 of the African Union.

The Tamarind team delivered multi-language interpretations of the proceedings with accurate terminology of modern and approved expressions in respect of people with albinism.

Hon. Isaac Mwaura, the first Kenyan MP with albinism, and representatives from the African Union and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights’ office graced the event. One of the most notable participants was Mr Mwimba Texas, an award winning wrestler also known as the ‘Mandela of people with Albinism’. Check out his documentary

Special multi-language events as this require efficient communication through accurate interpretation and translation, and we are proud to have been associated with this one.
