1st Africa International Translations Conference

Tamarind Translations participated in the First Africa International Translations Conference held in Nairobi, early February.

The conference brought together translators and interpreters from all over the globe, to mark the growth and recognition of translation as a profession on the African continent. Professor Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, novelist, scholar and playwright, held an appreciated keynote speech at the opening of the event.

The Tamarind Translations team met new translators to augment our broad network of linguists. Translation software, used to make work easier for translators, featured in many of our conversations, highlighting the importance of technology in the language profession. It was truly an enriching experience for the Tamarind Translations Team
